Jack is one week old today! I can't believe how fast this week has flown by! Our little man is doing really well. He is a champion eater and a pretty good sleeper too. The nights haven't been too awful, but it's definitely been an adjustment. We're just trying to figure out a new normal with our little guy. Today was my first day all alone with Jack. It went pretty well, and I even squeezed in a quick 15 minute nap this morning that was very refreshing. I also took him to our second post
partum/lactation consultation appointment. It's a resource provided at the hospital that they require new mom's to utilize. It really is a great program that provides one on one support for new mom's with a nurse. Our nurse really helped me with some tips on feeding Jack and also helped with other random questions I had. They weighed Jack prior to me feeding him and then after and he gained more than 2.5 oz. each time. I guess that's a lot because the nurse said we won the gold medal for the day. She also said that this kid will be 10 lbs. in no time. Not a huge surprise since big babies seem to be in both Brant and my genes.
We're doing great! Even the cats are adjusting better than expected! They seem attention deprived, but are still handling the newest member of the family pretty well. Here's some pictures from the last couple of days.

Great photos. Jack's one lucky guy.
