I've gotten better over the years, picking up a book here and there and actually finishing it. But ever since getting pregnant, I've wanted to read as much about pregnancy and babies as I can, to hopefully prepare myself for the changes a baby will bring. I think I've bitten off more than I can chew lately. Here's a picture of my "stack." I'm sure to some this is no big deal, but for a gal that has a hard time finding the time or attention span to devote to books, this is a really big deal. The two books on the top I haven't started yet, but I plan to in the next
week.
Brant already read Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" and became very motivated to pay more attention to our finances. Seeing as I am the one who monitors our budget and checks our bank account online daily, it hasn't given me anymore motivation to "live like no one else now, so later you can live like no one else." I'm pretty stingy when it comes to our money and I've always been a saver, but I will say that it's a good read for those who get caught up in "keeping up with the Jones'".
I read "Your Pregnancy Week By Week" every Saturday and it's something I really look forward to. Every Saturday morning I read the chapter of the week I'm in and learn all about what's going on with the baby. This book has been one of my favorite pregnancy books by far.
I read "What to Expect When You're Expecting" every month. It's alright. Not my favorite layout, but it is full of helpful information."
"Spilled Milk is a nursing book that was passed along to me from my sister-in-law. It gives women's stories on their struggles and the rewards of nursing. So far it's been enlightening and a little frightening. But I'd rather be prepared.
Which brings me to why I bought "The Nursing Mother's Companion" today. Reading all of these stories in "Spilled Milk" made me want some more information and guidance in preparation for nursing.
And lastly, "The Happiest Baby on the Block" was recommended by some friends. I'm looking forward to reading it in my last month of pregnancy to prepare for our little bundle of joy.
