Jack -Eight Weeks/Two Months

Blogging with a baby is harder than I thought! Sorry for the delays between posts, but I'm finding it hard to allocate time to blogging with an adorable baby around! Jack turned eight weeks last Wednesday! I realize this post is almost a week late, but I have lots of excuses that revolve almost exclusively around this cute little guy:

He's getting so big so fast and is looking more and more like a handsome little boy! He laughed a genuine belly laugh yesterday. It was the best laugh I have ever heard, music to my ears. I can't wait to hear more and more laughter out of this boy!

Jack had his two month appointment today. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 12 oz. and 23.5 inches long. He's in the 75th percentile for height and 92nd percentile for weight. He's a healthy boy! He also had four immunizations today - three shots and one oral vaccine. I made Brant go with me because I didn't think I'd be able to handle it, and I'm really glad he was there. Brant was a rock and held Jack's hand while he got poked. The nurse was really quick, but Jack still cried pretty hard for a short period of time. Today he's been feeling pretty crummy and has spent the majority of the day resting on my chest being rocked. Poor little guy, it just breaks my heart to see him in pain and uncomfortable.


We've taken Jack on some nice walks around the neighborhood this past week. The weather has been nice so we're trying to take advantage of it and get some fresh air. When I was pregnant with Jack, Brant always talked about how excited he was to wear Jack in a baby bjorn. Here he is with Jack, in what Brant calls his "Jack Pack":

In addition to keeping busy with Jack, we've also been keeping busy entertaining one of Brant's good friends, Danh, who is in town from Oklahoma for his spring break. He flew in on Thursday night, so we hosted a big get together on Friday night with a lot of Brant's friends. Jack must have been exhausted from helping us host because he slept 7 hours straight Friday night! Saturday night my sister generously offered to watch Jack so that we could go out to dinner. We went to one of Brant and my favorite places, Henry's. It was nice to get out and enjoy some good beer and good food, but of course I missed Jack.

Brant has this week off in addition to next week for spring break. He wasn't able to take much time off when Jack was born due to his recent switch in school districts, but he finally reached the minimum days worked at his current school district and was able to qualify for some family leave time so he extended his spring break. It's been great having him around and I know he's enjoying spending time with Jack.

We have some really fun plans for the next couple of weeks so I'll try really hard to blog about them sooner rather than later :)
