Home Alone

I'm home alone for the first time in I don't know how long. Brant just took Jack to watch the 49ers play the Seahawks at my brother's house, so I have a good couple of hours to do whatever I wish! I'm just not sure what to do with myself!!! I hope to get in a nap, and catch up on some work. But first things first...I obviously need to update the blog!
So many things have been going on the last couple of weeks, blogworthy things, but I just haven't had the chance to sit down and devote some time to write things down. I celebrated my birthday on the 28th, Brant started school, we watched some college football, participated in a friend's wedding, and many more things that aren't coming to mind at the moment.
Jack has gone through an amazing developmental spurt the last couple of weeks. He has been crawling on his hands and knees the last couple of days. He's much faster now and his favorite things to chase around the house are the cats. They understand to get out of his way when he's on the move. He can now get from his belly to a sitting position in a side ways pushup type move. He has started pulling himself up on things into a standing position. Brant and I have both found him standing up in his crib after naps. Which reminds me that I need to lower his mattress today! He's working on "pinching" meaning grabbing things with his forefinger and thumb. We introduced Cheerios broken in half, and he was able to get a good amount into his mouth. We took him to Church this morning and were a little nervous at first, but he settled down quite well. As long as there was music or someone talking, he was ok, but he didn't like the moments of silence while people were in prayer. Perfect for an 8am service! What were we thinking!?! As long as we kept him occupied by having him stand or with a quiet toy or with my necklace, he didn't embarrass us too often. I think he only laughed out loud once after the Priest said "Praise God." Silly kid! He is still doing wonderfully at daycare. His little personality is flourishing there.
We are approaching the busiest part of the year, where Brant is occupied almost every night with meetings, marching band, and beginning school year parent nights. Things are ridiculously busy at my job too. I have my eye on November when things will hopefully quiet down and we can enjoy the holidays.
I'll be sure to post some pictures soon!
